: Non-point pollution reduction system is the facility to remove or reduce water pollutants discharged from non-point source among water pollution prevention system.

Non-Point Pollution Source

It is the pollution source that discharges pollutants in water at the unspecified places of city, road, farm land, mountain area, and construction site.

Non-point pollutants are often discharged with outflowing water on the earth surface in early stage of rain. They are fertilizer or pesticide sprayed on farm land, soil sediment, livestock spills, tire dust of automobile on the road, oil, residues in urban area, and air pollutants dropped on the earth surface.

Non-point pollution reduction system is the facility to remove or reduce water pollutants discharged from non-point source among water pollution prevention system.

The size and capacity for non-point pollution reduction system must be designed enough to process early rainfall by the following standard.
① Determine the size and capacity of design through the analysis on rainfall frequency, discharge amount, and the degree of pollution in corresponding region.
② Compute rainfall amount of the corresponding region for accumulated discharge to process the amount of rainfall of more than 5mm at minimum.
③ The area of target to process is the land use area where major non-point pollutants are discharged. Except, if a countermeasure for non-point pollution reduction is included in the non-point pollution reduction plan besides the non-point pollution reduction system, corresponding size or capacity may be excluded.
